I received the GiGi Mini Pro Kit for Christmas. I was excited because Kate Bryan on The Small Things Blog posted DIY Eyebrow Waxing Tips. She included a YouTube post which made it look so easy.
I have tiny, fine hairs that are above my eyebrows all the way to my hairline. No amount of tweezing would get all of them!
The kit includes:
- Wax warmer with lid
- cardboard collars
- 14 oz creme wax for sensitive skin
- 3 sizes of applicators
- 2 Sizes of epilating strips
- 2 oz Slow Grow with Argon Oil
- 2 oz Pre Hon–a pre-wax cleaner
- 2 oz Post Wax Cooling Gel
- 2oz Post Wax Concealer
- 2oz Post Epilation Lotion
- Instruction Manual
I was surprised at the instruction manual. There are lots of dos and don’ts listed. Remember, this is a professional kit. It takes into consideration use of the kit in a salon.
This is what the warmer looks like with the wax inserted. The cardboard collar keeps the wax from dripping into the burner.
I heated the wax for 25 minutes. The Pre Hon is used to clean the area you are going to wax.
I used the smallest applicator to apply the wax. I worked in small sections. Using the smallest epilating strip I was able to remove all the fine hairs. The instructions recommend not reapplying wax to the same area, so whatever was missed was tweezed later.
The instructions also recommended using petroleum jelly to remove excess wax. This worked well. Once this was done, I used the Post Wax Cooling Gel to soothe the redness. I have to say that I was surprised at how well my skin tolerated the hot wax! I applied the Slow Grow.
I touched the areas when I woke up this morning to see how it felt. The areas were soft and so hydrated. I had no redness. Overall, I am very pleased with my GiGi Pro Kit. You can find it on Amazon for $39.99.
Have you tried GiGi? I would love to hear about your experience. Leave me a comment.
