Breakfast today was at Ellen’s Stardust Diner. We got there at the right time. We only had a couple people before us. We were seated upstairs.
This is a fifties style diner with a twist–the wait staff sing! I ordered the “Morning Glory.” I love corned beef hash!
Come to find out, the performers have either performed on Broadway or are awaiting their big break!
It was a very gloomy, sometimes rainy day. The weather this weekend was mild by New York standards. We heard twice that it was the same temperature on Christmas Day as it was on July 4th! We decided to walk to Macy’s to shop.
Here are some leftover balloons from New Year’s Eve.
Very gloomy day except for the lights in Times Square.
More leftover Christmas lights.
After some shopping, we passed some more of the rainy day at Rowland’s Bar & Grill in Macy’s. I had a champagne and some pickled veggies.
The rain stopped and we took a walk to the Public Library. This is Lord & Taylor still decorated for Christmas.
We got to see the Mary Poppins display in the children’s department.
We were walking back to the hotel and decided to pop into Grand Central Station.
We picked up some baked goods from Junior’s–a sprinkle cupcake and a black and white cookie. We sat and watched people for awhile. We were exhausted so we went back to the hotel for a nap.
We dressed and walked Fifth Avenue to find dinner. We came upon some more beautiful Christmas decorations.
Sak’s Fifth Avenue had a magnificent light show timed with music.
Selfie at Rockefeller Center.
New York’s finest.
Dinner was Bill’s Bar & Burger. I had the Mini B’s – 3 Sliders with caramelized onion, cheese, ketchup, mustard, special sauce and pickles. Juan had the chili and Bill’s burger. The food was good. We were disappointed with the hosting staff. Our waitress was great.
This brings us to the end of Day 3. Visit again to read about Day 4. Feel free to comment.
