Overcoming the Fear to Blog

Welcome to My Blog! I am so glad you have decided to visit. Obviously this is my first post–other than all the behind the scene stuff. More about that in a moment. I have written in a journal for years. They have evolved into saving bits of my life on the written page. I am a very creative person and really needed an outlet. I got that internal nudge–we all get them, but what do we do about them?!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. Since then, I have been asked to tell my story in many different outlets. I was interviewed for two publications and was even on our local news! That is when I decided that a blog could be the perfect place to put, not only my breast cancer story, but also other aspects of my life that may interest others. We all are on the internet searching Google, Social Media and blogs for information that relates to us.

I am 52 years old and consider myself internet savvy, but a blog was a whole new realm. I am here to tell you that you can teach an old dog new tricks!! Once again, with much research I knew I could figure this out. Don’t get me wrong, I stressed over this. I mean lost sleep! Of course life doesn’t stop for you to spend all the time in the world creating a blog! No, we are in the middle of a house remodel, I am still recovering from surgery, the holidays are just around the corner…..ok I’ll stop. But, you get the picture. But, what better use of blog space than to fill it up with my life events. My hope is that you will stay awhile and look around.

There are so many resources to help you get started. Do a YouTube search and hundreds of pins and pages come up. While I was setting up behind the scenes, I had to come up with a name for my blog. I have always loved this poem:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

I am taking that road less traveled just by sharing with you. My desire is for you to journey with me down these roads that we have always wondered what it would be like if we had the courage to do so. Life is a journey. We all have a story to tell. So, go grab a cup of coffee, or tea if you prefer and sit back and enjoy!! I hope we can become friends. I look forward to your comments and ideas. Until next post….see you on the road, fellow traveler!
